Happy dance!!

Oh yeah! Guess who's got a BA paper advisor?!!! His name is Paul Cheney!! And he didn't cry when he wrote my proposal!! In face he didn't have any real criticism except some grammar faults and the fact that it's a little general but that's ok cuz he knows I haven't really done any research. So life is good. My french grammar final didn't kill me. In face there were only two questions I was unsure about. Yup. SO now for my early monastacism final. Hopefully, I won't spend my next final hacking my head off like I did in the last one! Wish me luck!

I'm not green! :(

What Color Are You?

Yellows are motivated by fun. They are inviting and embrace life as a party which they're hosting. They love playful interaction and can be extremely sociable and persuasive. They seek instant gratification. YELLOWS need to be adored and praised. While YELLOWS are carefree, they are quite sensitive and highly alert to others motives to control them. YELLOWS carry within themselves the gift of a good heart. YELLOWS need to look good socially, and friendships command a high priority in their lives. YELLOWS are happy, highly verbal, easily bored, and crave adventure. They can never sit still for long. They choose friends who, like themselves, refuse to allow lifes boring details stifle their curiosity. They embrace each day in the present tense. YELLOWS are charismatic, spontaneous, positive, and can be irresponsible, obnoxious, and forgetful. When you deal with a YELLOW praise and adore them, take a positive, upbeat approach, and promote creative and fun activities for and with them.

I’m sitting in my room not doing hw like usual. Nothing that special. I found a really interesting monologue in Marlowe’s Dido, Queen of Carthage (how couldn’t I like this play after translating book four of the Aeneid twice!) I’ve got so much to do and so many big plans but the rush is starting to fade. I mean every time I pick up a script or read something about a drama school I get dizzy with all the thoughts spinning in my head. And I’m really happy. So many things are going right… So why do I feel awful? Just looking at all of the ROTC stuff all over my room. I mean I made a commitment and I’m not the kind of person who goes back on their word. But if I don’t do this I’ll regret it for the rest of my life. Some people seem to think I’m making a very sudden, rather rash decision but this feels right, like moving out of my mom’s house. It was the right thing to do but I felt awful at the time because I was abandoning her. And that’s what this feels like—I’m abandoning a promise I made. I went with my gut then and that’s what I’m going to do now. And I’m going to work so hard to prove I didn’t break a promise for nothing. Time to get to work!

Game Plan

Ok, so I have a plan to graduate next summer! I have to make a meeting with some more people in the history dept. to really fix a plan for writing my BA paper. Then, I have a meeting with my early monastacism teacher tomorrow to fine tune a real topic for my paper. Same goes for Int. Hist. class. Gonna have a meeting with her thurs. hopefully. Yeah! I'm researching drama schools and I have e-mailed Major Moody to make a meeting about the Air Force. Yup! And this summer we learn monologues! 20 to be precise! Hope there's a summer show. There's been no talk of one but a girl can dream?! Anywho, reading to do! And swing tonight! Vale!

Post 300

I don't know what to do now... This stupid job gives me way too much time to think!! Today I was thinking about the play I saw last night. I absolutely loved it! But why is it I can't go see a show, professional or otherwise, without wishing it was me up there on that stage. I'm usually convinced that I could do better even if the actress is outstanding and there's this longing to be the one up there that's getting harder and harder to ignore. I mean in high school I remember thinking about theatre and how much I would miss it when it was gone. But I was always doing theatre so it was easy to put it in the back of my mind. ANd as much as I loved theatre, and egyptology was a greater love for me. But now? I don't know... I mean I really love theatre. I like connecting with an audience. I like being able to share things with them. But I'm not any good and there's no possible way that I could pursue this. I mean I'd have to quit the air force, pay them back... transfer schools or try and graduate from here early... I don't know what to do. I need to keep thinking.

Correction

Barry has red jumpsuit and blue sleeves.

Busy, busy, busy!!

Yeah, so I have to meet with my advisor tomorrow and go to a silly awards ceremony at eight in the morning!! I stayed up all night working on scav hunt. I'm working on two items this year:

Item 25: Go to the lobby and get yourselves a snack. Dress appropriately for your big song and dance number, which you will perform. (19 points. No points for Max Palevsky Cinema, because they don't have a lobby, tools)

Item 159: "Where's Waldo?" is pretty easy when you think about it. I mean c'mon the guy is in EVERY picture. We're going to play a game called "Where's Barry?" Barry is an African-American male with short curly black hair. He's wearing a blue jumpsuit with red sleeves, and has an expression of bemusement. He's somewhere in the "Where's Waldo?" series of books. Find him (3 points)

For 25 our inspiration was the following: http://www.filmack.com/products/ClassicLobbyA.htm. I'm gonna be the soda! Gonna bring bubbles!!

Anyways, french paper outline time! Vale!

Scav hunt costume building!

Yeah, so my mom graduated this past weekend. I shoulda brought my camera but it wouldn't have mattered cuz I probably would have put it in my suit case that they lost for about a day!! It was a fun trip. I got to see the sponge capital of the world- Tarpon Springs! And we went on a boat. So very nice. I really miss FL. Too bad I'm not gonna be able to go back there any time soon. Anywho, I should go do hw or something semi productive. Season finale of gilmore girls tonight! Vale!

Excuse me, it's just too painful to talk about. Perhaps, I'll write here again when he returns. Until then, I must say good bye.

This was weird!

So I had a really crazy dream last night about Shoshi. I guess I should preface this with the fact that Rachael, Brian, and I were talking to her for a while in the pit last night. Anywho, it was a Harry Potter dream of course. Harry and co. (yes i was one of them!) were trying to find out about Voldemort's new weapon (i.e. something worse than avada kedavra) and somehow we heard that he didn't develop the weapon himself. He got it from a young person who happened upon it by accident and guess who that young person was? Shoshi!! She was trying to find a way to erase badness and such from the world and she somehow managed to create a spell that would erase things. They don't die. Their souls don't move on the next world. After being hit with this spell, they never existed in the first place. They vanish and their gone. It was a really scary thing to watch Shoshi do it when we went to talk to her. We found her in France and she was all excited about her new discovery (she hadn't considered using it on humans... it was just a sort of accident) but she was really optimistic about all the "good" her new spell could do in the world. She didn't know Voldemort had somehow found out about it. It was crazy. When we were talking to her about her new spell it felt the same as talking to Hagrid and realizing that he had actually told Querrel how to get past fluffy by accident. It was not a pleasant feeling. Implications of this spell? Voldemort could erase someone and not damage his already feeble soul. There are no ramifications for a persons soul because you're not killing something. And you don't have to focus all your hatred to make the spell work. Happy Shoshi could perform the spell without any problem. So Harry could perform the spell...

On a lighter note I'm still listening to the Last Five Years. I've been talking to a lot of people about it and I think I've got a sort of game plan. Oh and I came up with something to do this summer that will make it oh soooo much more bareable. Hope I get it! I'm not going to tell you yet because I might jinx it. Yeah, so I was walking home and it was such a beautiful day. I remember thinking things just can't get better than this: good weather, good music, good ice cream from the c-shop (the shake machine was broken so they just gave out scoops of ice cream lol)... And then I remembered that I was going to see Josh tomorrow and smiled knowing that things can and hopefully will get better in a little more than 24 hours lol. I do really look forward to seeing him. Vale!

Blah de dah!

I keep listening to the last five years. I'm such a dork. I'm really in love with this show.

Now I can die happy!

I saw The Last Five Years today and it was amazing! It was showing at the Royal George Theatre on their third floor which was this tiny little theatre the size of BJ's one on the basement!! The singers had problems with overwhelming the small space. But I saw it and the director made so many choices I would have made. Having the other person get off stage after each song, costume changes, using all the space, it was just really awesome. I really loved Jamie!! He was dorky, and cute, and so very loveable, especially at the begining! He wasn't the best singer but when he was talking to his manager, or cathy, or whoever they were really present for him. Cathy on the other had I wanted to strangle. The girl was an amazing singer and very pretty, but she wasn't singing to anyone. Not to herself, jamie, etc. when there was no one on stage with her. In fact, she sang to the ceiling for the first half the show!! Blah! And she went a little overboard with the verbrato. But there were moments when I really liked her. And when she and Jamie sang together I wanted to die. They were so cute and sweet. It was really beautiful and that's what I wanted. I think the contrast between the happy and the arguing unhappy parts could have been bigger. Oh and when Jamie did the Schmeul song at the end he had a copy of backstage for her and pulled out a small pocket watch from a box when he tells her he is giving her unlimited time and I wanted to squeel! It was the sweetest, cutest thing ever. Such a personal creative sort of christmas present and I loved it. :) All I can do is sigh with contentment now.

BTW

I bought my ticket to Paris today!!!

First Real Rehearsal

Dude, I finished my first real rehearsal and it was fun. I have a whole monologue about horses now and I get to play a lot. Should be fun. The hardest part will be to get inside my own little world and stay there. I think at this point the only thing I find hard is the lack of energy among some of the actors. We went through this thing a million times it felt like and nothing really changed that much. So I guess that's the challenge for the director. Encouraging the actor to explore and play. Yeah, but I'm really excited about my part. We're trying to find an autistic person to talk to. Oh, and two members of the cast have autistic cousins. Kinda weird... I've never known of anyone with autism. Anywho, I'm about done with my css profile and fafsa. I've just got one more thing to get from my dad and I'm done!!! Wahoo!!! And the peasants cheer!!! :) I spent yesterday afternoon singing. It was so great. I think i'm finally getting over this whole sick thing. Vale!

Paper break

Yesterday was a long day. Class, reading, rotc, then mass, and more hw. I think mass was the hardest part of all of it. I sat there for the frist time and felt like I didn't belong. That I was loosing this community that i've been a part of for most of my life. I stood there and i couldn't say the words. I couldn't sing the songs. I came home and talked to Rachael about it for a while and we did some reading about things online. And by the end of it all Rachael and I knew that I had made a decision. Not because of rational facts, not out of pure curiosity, but because of what I feel in my heart. Based on my own relationship with G-d this was the only decision I could make. And now i don't know what to do next. I guess just start reading and talking about what my options are. At least G-d has stood by me through all of this. There's never been a doubt that I was loved and that in the end everything would be ok. Just another thing to be greatful for. It's funny though. I'm listening to the last five years. Has nothing to do with anything. It just fits me. Well back to my french paper. Vale!

Thursday Morning!

This morning the sun came up! I don't know why but every now and then i get excited about stuff like that. The weather is beautiful. I can't help but feel lucky for how I have been blessed so far in my life. I know I'm not the best about appreciating all the things I've been given. So right now I'm taking a moment to say thank you!!! Thank you all my friends for not getting annoyed and being there through all of my DRAMA! Thank you friends who live far away who haven't forgotten me! Thank you Josh for being so good at making me smile! Thank you God for being with me in my time of questions and doubt. I just want to say thanks to everyone in my life. I really am so very greatful. :)

Back, and better than ever!

So due to popular demand, and Jackie's incessant notes, I have decided to end the silence and begin posting here again! Sorry for the absence. I've been sick and oh so very busy. My history classes are keeping me more than just a little bit occupied. But I'm back at work, finally, which means I've got lots of time for blog posting lol. Seriously, the only time I write here is when I'm at work. Hopefully, I won't get another job that keeps me away from blogging lol. Yup, but things are great for the moment. I got cast in a show despite not auditioning... It's a staged reading of a student written piece and rather existential. Can you believe that I got type cast as an autistic child?? It's crazy! And now I have to do all this research on autisim because I don't much about it. Hmmmm... what else to write? Rousseau is fun?! I still don't talk in my history class. Mostly because I don't really have anything to say... I usually take in the information and then take my time processing it on my own. We'll see. It's strange though because I talk in my monasticism class, but that's mostly because no one else does! Oh and I'm learning french punctuation right now and it's so confusing. I'm never going to be able to use a semi-colon, etc. in english right now because I'll have the stupid french rules in my head!! Blah!!!! Anywho, maybe I'll go work or something? Vale!

Tired

You know when your head starts to hurt in your forehead when you haven't slept a lot? That's what I've got. I can't wait till i get off work at five. I'm going to take a nap, then read some rousseau and stuff bout early monasticism and then I'm going back to sleep! Oh, i might eat something at some point... lol. It's funny to be so tired but still in a pretty good mood lol. I just can't dance as much as I'd like to :>) Anywho, gotta get back to work! Vale!

New Ok Cupid Test

From The Sonnet to:

The Window Shopper
Random Gentle Love Dreamer

Loving, hopeful, open. Likely to carry on a romance from afar. You are The Window Shopper.

You take love as opportunities come, which can lead to a high-anxiety, but high-flying romantic life. You're a genuinely sweet person, not saccharine at all, so it's likely that the relationships you have had and will have will be happy ones. You've had a fair amount of love experience for your age, and there'll be much more to come.

Part of why we know this is that, of all female types, you are the most prone to sudden, ferocious crushes. Your results indicate that you're especially capable of obsessing over a guy you just met. Obviously, passion like this makes for an intense existence. It can also make for soul-destroying letdowns.

Your ideal match is someone who'll love you back with equal fire, and someone you've grown to love slowly. A self-involved or pessimistic man is especially bad. Though you're drawn to them, avoid artists at all costs.

Paper woes...

Ok so i'm about to start page four of my paper and i've already covered two of the three main points of my paper. I mean i know the third point is the biggest by far but I don't think it's four pages worth. And he wants this thing 1.5 spaced! Hahahahaha... don't think that's gonna happen... One of my two sources is just too small. And I don't like to give millions of examples in las casas that all say the same thing... I'm gonna have to start using more examples though to get through all of this... i don't have any huge block quotes so that at least is looking good. My french is abismal though. Gonna need some crazy amounts of editing more than likely. Well i should stop procrastinating and get crackin'. Vale!

Another paper!

Yeah, so I'm starting work on my french paper that I am determined to make better than my history paper that I got a B- on. Blah! It's the lowest grade I've gotten since I got here and I'm annoyed. It could have been so much better. I knew it was crap when I turned it in. Too many quotes and nothing to say about them... And I spent all this time on Petrarch because I'm in love with him and I got all distracted. Blah. So I'm gonna meet with the teacher and talk about it. Yeah, but I should have spent another day on it. I was so tired though I didn't have enough time to fix it. But this paper has to be in french. it's gonna be disatrous. i'm planning a day just for french editing. Anywho, must get to it. vale!

Library Lethargy

Why does the Reg. have the power to put me in such a robot like stupor?! Blah, I'm getting way too good at this dumb job. I usually have over an hour till kill after each cart because I finish so early. I mean I could go and get another one to do but they don't care how much we do and don't expect us to come back before 30min per shelf elapses. So end up on a computer doing nothing... Blah!

Begining of Spring Break!

Wahoo!!! It's spring break... Doesn't really feel like it because I really ought to work all week since I'm really broke because of this study abroad deposit I have to pay. Right now I'm thinking about strategizing about the best way to ask my parents for money to help pay for Paris... Nothing amazing has come to mind yet but I'll think of something. It's just weird because they don't help me out at all since I'm here. Both of them practically forgot my birthday and my mom flat out said if she got me anything it wouldn't be anytime soon cuz she's broke from just moving and all the travel with work. That and I really don't want their help. I mean is that so weird? I like doing things myself if I can and I think I could almost swing it if I didn't have to go to field training this summer. I have all this stuff I have to get for field training that I can't afford and then I don't get to work for a month! Thank you Air Force! So we have to ask the folks! Maybe, I'll write them a letter! That could work! A letter! Hmmm... Oh and also I have to write a french paper this week because I didn't have time at the end of the quarter and it's not due till monday of next quarter and being the true procrastinator I am,I haven't done it. I plan on researching tonight and start writing tomorrow. That's the hope! Well I should get back to work or something. Vale!

Birthday Reflections

I had a really great b-day (granted I was tired as all crap because I stayed up all night writing a paper) but I got to go out to eat mexican food (we all know how much i LOVE tacos!) with Josh, Rachael and Brian. It was just so nice to get out of BJ! I had 26 people wish me a happy birthday on the facebook this year! It's funny hearing from people you haven't talked to in at least two years... I also got a box of random fun stuff from my grandma C., an embroidery book/dessert extravaganza from rachael, and a really nifty kite with two strings that does tricks and stuff and kite tatoos from Josh! Everything was just great.

Today I had to go to the housing office twice to get this form stuff straightened out since kate's gonna be my roomie again. I'm talking to her about moving to the inner room so I don't have to worry about people walking through so much when Josh comes over. She sounds like she should be cool with it. Tonight, rachael, brian, and I all met and ate our last meal in the dining hall for a while and then went downtown to the giant borders and got ice cream at ghiradelli's afterwards (i really do love their rasberry sundays!). Tomorrow rachael and I go to brian's for spring break (he's going home to colorado and is letting us use his apt. for the week) and we actually have to go back to our borders to get something I just thought of ;) It should be fun! Then Josh and I are hanging out in the evening. Lots to look forward to! :) Vale!

Here're a picture of my new kite!

paper break!

I finished Petrarch and the peasants cheered!!! Hahahahahahahaha!! I've also already finished Bruni. You've gotta love people who sum up their entire paper in the conclusion, so you only have to quote from the end to everything you want to say from them. Now we're headed for Guarino. He shouldn't take too long and then we hit machiavelli (the prince and the discourses, this is gonna take forever) and if I get really ambitious Castiglion's the Courtier (which i never even finished reading...) I might cuz castiglione. With both machiavellis i'll have 5 sources which was the goal. I'm listening to a fun poppy song to clear my head. Typing makes my brain hurt lol. Back to work i guess. Vale!

Ides of March!

Blah!!! Paper! I'm writing in the freakin' library?!

Wonderful Day

Today, was such a nice day. The weather was amazing!! I worked out with ROTC this morning and then I went downtown with Rachael, Brian, and Melinda to see the river which was died green today for the St. Patrick's day parade. We missed the Parade because of my ROTC thing but we had fun seeing the river. Then we all went to Chipotle for lunch which was kinda a mad house but fun nonetheless. Then we walked around a bit and they ditched me for the house bowling trip. I love my house, I love my friends, but I REALLY hate bowling lol. Why? I have no idea. That and I really needed to go home and write a paper and I though with all of them gone it would be easier to get work done. Anywho, after they left I walked up michigan avenue and bopped around a bit. Then i went to the giant borders and as per usual I spent way too much time there. This time was particularly bad because I didn't have a watch with me... So I spent at least a few hours there skimming through books. I bought a french vocab book to help me get ready for paris!!! There were at least three other books I almost bought but I pulled out a little bit of self control. Afterwards, I skipped to the train (gotta love remembering to bring your ipod for they way home). I waited forever for the 55 like usual and then walked home nice and slow as the sun was going down. Now, it's probably just wishful thinking, the nice weather, and seeing so much green that's messing with my head but I swear the grass on campus looked a little bit green on my way home!! I stopped by bart mart thinking to get something small for dinner but they didn't have anything I wanted so I pranced home mouthing the words to all the songs I was listening too. It was fun watching the wind play with my St. Patrick's day cat in the hat style hat. It was just like a wind sock and soooo much fun to play with. Anywho, I'm home now and ordered dinner from the med. which should be here soon. It was such a nice slow day... Almost as good as taking my puppies for a nice long walk.

rain

I really love the smell of rain. I've been sitting in the entrance of mathews just listening to the rain--the smell, the sound,it reminds me of home. Of the summer when it would rain everyday in the afternoon. I remember running out in the rain barefoot and walking for over an hour with my radio--getting soaking wet and coming home, wrapping myself in blankets, and watching a movie. I hate how you can't hear the rain in the dorm. I also remember how I used to go ride my bike for hours in the rain. I really liked how I could go out in the rain and just listen and there was no one around to distract me. Spinning in the rain! If only it were a bit warmer! I got to play in the rain this summer once, but not for very long. It only rained maybe three times this summer and it made me sad.

PPD

I have no play rehearsal tonight... Blah, I really didn't want this play to be over. When I got home from the cast party saturday night a spent a lot of time talking to rachael about all the little things I put into my character that no one noticed but me. From what I was writing on my post-its to the phone's movement/choreography. I remember in my high school drama class discussing the idea of a character's inner monologue but I'd never been in a show where I actually got to do that until now. I mean since it was all monologues there was a lot of time where Violet was changing and growing while other people where talking and I had all of her thoughts in my head. This play was a really amazing experience for me. Now all I can do is sit and wait until auditions next quarter. Hopefully, something will happen. As far as reactions to the show, everyone I talked to really liked the show as a whole. Most agreed it was very well put together and that the acting was great :) It was such a confusing show and it didn't really have an ending which unsettled some people. But all in all people enjoyed it. I met this one kid who came every night, and understood something different for all three nights. Well I'm sick of thinking about this play now. It's over. Yeah, so I've got three papers to write and one exam, and this quarter is over baby!! Oh and we're going to go see the Last Five Years on my birthday!!!! Wahoo!!!

One down, two to go!

Ok so the first show went rather well. The only major disaster was my platform that was rocking like crazy. Throughout the show that's all I was thinking about. I can't believe I didn't go and check out my space before the show... but oh well it's over and the audience didn't even notice. I really nailed my random word monologue and the migration monologue but again the phone calls were lacking. But hopefully, magic will happen tonight and tomorrow and the peasants will cheer!!! Oh and Rachael came last night and brought me flowers which was soooooooo sweet and put up with me while i ranted about how much i suck and all the crazy things that went wrong that only i knew about . The real kick was my lack of connection with the audience. Violet is in her own little world and so i completely forgot the audience was there. Anyways, stuff to do. Vale!

It Begins

Lent begins in a few days and I just started reading in this lenten prayer book. It's nice to have things like this to remind yourself what Lent is all about. For those of you who don't know, or have forgotten, the three pillars of lent are prayer, almsgiving, and fasting. So I'm trying to incorporate all three of these things into my lenten plan. Here it is so far:

~Friday Fasting
~Set aside time for prayer everyday (and use my lent prayer book!)
~Read Bible everyday (I think I'm going to go back to the new testament this year)
~Volunteer (I already e-mailed Father Pat about this already and he gave me a few ideas. He really wants me to sing in the choir...)
~Rosary on Sundays (Goes along with the prayer part)
~Love more, show love, be supportive of those around me, make someone smile everyday
~Spend time listening everyday (we all know my mouth gets away from me on a daily basis. But how can I hear God if I never shut up?!)

So that's the plan. It's a bit ambitious but I think I can do it. And I think I'm going to start now as a sort of warm-up for lent! Wish me luck!

:)

Yeah, so I just finished Q2Q and it was waaaaaaaaay shorter than you'd expect. (Q2Q for you non-theatre folk is when you go through the show and just run every light cue, sound cue, etc. and it takes forever!!!) The longer we went the sillier I got which was a bit problematic but it happens. Yesterday was a fun day. I played hookey from work (although technically I still had strep throat...) and went to Bio. Then I found Rachael and dragged her downtown with me. We went to the bank and then Argo Cafe (They have the most amazing tea!!). Then we walked around a little, and went to target. Nothing really special but it was fun hanging out with Rachael. I haven't seen her much cuz I've been so busy lately. Then we goofed off and went to dinner and then went and saw R&G which was amazing by the way. I hope our show is that good. Yeah, so now I'm just killing time because I thought Q2Q would take longer and I don't know what time I should get on the bus to meet Josh... I'll just have to play it by ear me thinks! Vale!

I was one busy little bird today!

So much stuff to do! Anywho, I went to ren. humanism, then went over blocking with cassie, got food (cuz classics was closed cuz there's mold or something), ran into a protest being led by a bunch of my naked theater friends, went to french class and almost fell asleep a bajillion times, then I went to the co-op book store to buy a book i need for a paper because the copy i have from the reg. has been recalled, then i went and PTed with lindsey and gabe, then i got dinner, and now i'm here killing time before the colman run :( I don't quite understand why the hell she has to see the show or what this is for but whatever. I'm gonna be a birdie and it's gonna be fun! Although the latter half of the play isn't as much fun. Oh and I have a sore throat! I'm so sick of chicago, literally! I've been sick at least 4 times this quarter and it's getting kinda rediculous! Blah! Sorry, I just really needed to rant lol. Now I'm better! OMG!! Google's picture today has people curling!!! That's pretty awesome. I have to say I found curling pretty funny and a lot more intense than you'd think. I especially liked this asian team because they sounded so funny when they were yelling to each other. I think I could be a broom person. I've got plenty of sweeping experience from working in restaurants, etc! Maybe one day... Well I'm gonna go do some reading or something.

I'm a dork!

Yeah so when I got into the cage for work I took of my coat and realized that I got chocolate all over my shirt from the chocolate chip muffin I ate for breakfast. How I managed this is a mistery! Ahhhhh Pride and Prejudice soundtrack! Anyways, still killing time at work. I just remembered that UT comittee elections are at six today and three people in my show are running so I have to go vote! Vale!

#243

Can you believe I have almost 250 blog posts?! Lots of wasting time in the library I guess... lol. Yeah, so I don't have rehearsal tonight!!! Wahoo!! I'm gonna sleep! That's the plan anyways and read some Praise of Folly. So my play opens next week! I have an appointment to meet with Cassie to really cement my blocking. I think the problem is that I get so into Violet that I just forget about everything else. That and I have the most blocking for the entire show although I might be tied with Fuscia. I've never had such blocking problems though which is annoying. Anywho, two hours of work and then nap!! Oh, and rasberry tea is awesome. Oh yeah, Rachael and my tea party study break last night was fun and a sucess. They ate everything! And we had a lot of food! I forgot to take a picture of my petits fours. Oh well... Yeah but what did I learn from the adventure that was petits fours? I learned that fondant is a pain to work with and messy as hell! lol. I gave up with it less than half way through and just put butter cream on the rest. Oh and I accedentally put almond extract in half of them instead of lemon and then i spilled the ENTIRE bottle of lemon extract which made Rachael sad so I have to buy her more. Well off to work!

P.S. Petits Fours means little ovens in case you were wondering!

lerrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yeah, so I'm at the library killing time like usual. It's so bright out today! I want to go outside now. I'm actually going to go to Bio. today!!! I haven't been in a week which i guess isn't so great but I always fall asleep in that class when I do go and he always lets us out late! My room is still clean which is kinda crazy... Yesterday, we got to spend some time with Cassie talking to her about what sorts of things we want to do for the next few weeks. I can't believe this show goes up in a few weeks. Tonight I'm meeting Harriet to run lines and catching up on a bunch of reading and sleeping!! Oh sleep! What an idea? I went to bed relatively early last night, round 12:30. I don't know why I'm talking about this. My mind has been spinning about all sorts of things lately and yet I never seem to get any of that out here. Eh, oh well. Vale.

Rachael is a silly person!

She sent me a singing valentine!? She kept talking about how I should be around the dorm thursday evening but she couldn't remember why. I remember being suspicious of this request the first time I heard it but Rachael can be silly and forget things so I laughed it off and of course forget all about it. Once, I remember her mentioning it and I told her it was probably going to be an alien abduction and the aliens were telling her to tell me and weren't allowing her to remember lol. So when she told me to come because maybe the aliens would show up today I ignored her because I was hungry and went to dinner instead and refused to wait until 6:30 like she wanted. not only that, I took my time at dinner! I spent forever at dinner lol and then I come back and a few minutes later all of "Unaccompanied Women" shows up to sing me a valentine! lol. There were like 10 of them or something! It made me laugh though. So thank you Rachael! lol. (I can be really stubborn sometimes lol even when someone is doing something sweet for me! Sorry bout that!)

Blah I've been tagged! I'm not doing this on my silly LJ cuz blogs are soooooo much better!

Ground Rules: The 1st player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 weird habits of yourself" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their 5 weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged.

1. When i'm sitting anywhere with socks on I rub my feet together. It has nothing to do with being cold or anything and it used to drive my sister crazy!!

2. I have to set at least two alarms and it can't be an even number sorta. Well it can be even but it can't end in a 0 or 5 and it can't have any kind of balance! For example 5:27 works, 7:02 works, 4:13 works, but 3:23 doesn't, 4:04 doesn't, you get the idea. Oh and I've been shying away from 01 times too lately. So 4:01 hasn't worked lately. Why? I have no clue!

3. I clean my ears often. I can't stand for there to be water in my ears if it didn't come from the ocean or something natural. So after I take a shower I have to get the water out of my ears cuz it bothers me!

4. I take flinstones vitamins because I wasn't taking my vitamins before because I don't wake up early enough to remember to go get water to take a vitamin. This is funny because I used to make fun of Jackie for taking Flinstones but they have almost all the same stuff as my other multi-vitamin.

5. I can't sleep unless it's absolutely dark. And I have to remind myself of this, because I'll sit there staring at the little bit of light that comes in from the window for over an hour before I'll realize that I'm not sleeping.

6. Because Bridgette almost had the same number five! I like to touch trees. I'll be walking along and go out of my way to touch a tree just because. Or I'll spin around trees. Why? They're trees... This makes me want to climb a tree. I've been wanting to do this for a few weeks lol.

Blah, that was hard!! So I'm tagging Brian Hinkle, PJ, Seth, Jason Goodson (I'm not sure if you read this but I can't think of anyone else who has an online journaly thing), and whoever else reads this thing that I don't know about lol (Damn you I don't write notes on blogs people! and I know you're out there!! Rachael and Jackie!! You can do yours in a note on my Blog or on the facebook!)

grrrrrr!!!

I've had the hic-ups (Sp?!) all day and it's starting to really drive me crazy!!!

@ work

It's been a good music day at the library. Lots of swing and soft things with just a dash of silliness here and there. Yesterday was quite the busy day. I had class all day and it was beautiful out! I just sat there in french class staring at the midway out the window. Oh, I cleaned my room yesterday!!! Vacuumed, swept, the whole nine yards! Then I went to rehearsal and screwed up a bit of my blocking, but I'm getting there. We invaded R&G's rehearsal as ninjas and it was amazingly fun. I'm sure they're going to try and retaliate but they're never going to be as cool as us ninjas! I climbed into the theater through the window (I hurt my shin in the process but it's all good). Lets see... Then I hung out with Josh for the rest of the evening. We got hot chocolate and wondered around Hyde Park au pied. It was a lot of fun and we got to visit the Vicking and M. Linné. Then, I bothered Rachael for a few hours (We watched my taped episod of Gilmore Girls lol) and went to bed really late. I then proceeded to wake up super early to PT with lindsey at 7am. Afterwards, I took a long nap lol and came to work at one. Well gtg. Vale!

Let's go fly a kite!

I want to go fly a kite now! This song just came on my shuffle! Gotta love Mary Poppins lol.

With tuppence for paper and strings
You can have your own set of wings
With your feet on the ground
You're a bird in a flight
With your fist holding tight
To the string of your kite

Oh, oh, oh!
Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!

When you send it flyin' up there
All at once you're lighter than air
You can dance on the breeze
Over 'ouses and trees
With your first 'olding tight
To the string of your kite

Oh, oh, oh!
Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Let's go fly a kite!

La de da!

So I noticed yesterday that I haven't really written anything on here in a while. I just finished my cart at the library more than an hour early. I have no idea how that happened but now I have time to kill. Lets start with today. I slept in this morning because I stayed up really late last night. I was talking to Rachael and Brian and then when I got to my own room I just wasn't tired so I cleaned off my desk a bit. I think I might clean my room all the way when I get home and wash my sheets. Oh I re-filled my shuffle because the music on it was driving me absolutely crazy. Every now and then autofill just doesn't do a good job of finding what I want to listen to. Yeah, so it's been a preey uneventful day so far. I've got lots of reading to do tonight. And I still don't have a paper topic!! Eeekk~~!! It'll happen. Blah, I'm even boring myself now! I'll write more later when I have something to say. Vale!

I had a really wonderful day today (well i guess it was yesterday now). I should to go to sleep now...

It's 9 something and all I have to do is edit!!

Paper=Done!! Must edit. It's light outside?! Haven't seen morning light in long time... ate breakfast! Wahoo!

I DON'T WANT TO WRITE THIS PAPER!!!! BIO. SHOULD DIE!!!!

Finally feeling better, sort of...

So I woke up feeling better. I started to get out my stuff for ironing for ROTC and I decided to go to the dining hall for breakfast instead of waiting to eat after I had my uniform on. So I went into the dining hall and all the smells hit me like a ton of bricks. I managed to eat some hash browns and a little apple sauce. I was feeling so bad afterwards I ended up not going to ROTC and sleeping all day. I was up all last night finishing my personal statement for my study abroad app. Rachael helped me edit it and it was a bit of a disaster lol. She added like a million commas. But it's finished now! So all I have to do is my resume and I'm finished!!! Vale!

I've passed the throwing up phase!

Yeah, so I didn't go to class or work today. I woke up at like 1:30. I was up all night with a splitting head ache. I still haven't eaten anything. I'm supposed to wait until I'm hungry. So we've been sipping water and flat watered down ginger ale. Blah. I'm writing my study abroad application right now. It's going... Blah! Well gotta migrate!

Tuesday, January 31, 2006

oh yeah

it was sunny otday and i didn't even get to enjoy it

Damn the world!

I'm sick... aGAIN!!! I'VE been throwing up since six pm. But i've been feeling sick all day so I didn't really eat anything all day except a breakfast bar. So i've been throwing up water which, let me tell you, is unpleasant. Rachael's been staying with me and we already called the doctor on call. They think I have the stomach flu... Now I'm making Rachael read me one of my favorite books, It's funny cuiz she can't pronounce all the irish names! Oh and I have a paper due tomorrow that I haven't written. I don't think it's gonna happen. I e-mailed my professor asking for an extension. Maybe he'll take pity on my poor soul. Vale!

At work and not working!

So I've been shelving books and listening to my lines that I recorded last night. I definetly need to sit down and play with each of these monologues individually. It was really neat though to hear all my monologues back to back to back. You get a better feel for the progression. It occured to me that Violet never gets angry. I think I might try and change that. There's one moment in particular that I've been playing sort of dispairing and freaking out. But I think she could get a bit angry there. And I think I've got a pretty good hold on most of it except the random word monologue, the song, and the last two phone calls. I think I need to talk to Cassie again. Cuz with the telephone calls in particular, I don't think what we had in mind originally is really working. I don't know why I'm writing about this here. You have no idea what I'm talking about. I just have to write things down sometimes. That's why I have like five or more journals lol. I didn't sleep much last night. I'm not really broken up about it though. I've got a lot of reading to do this weekend and a bio. paper to write. Well break's over. Vale!

I didn't know what to say...

So this guy I've been randomly talking to online lately just sent me a message apoligizing for not talking to me lately because his grandfather died. I just didn't know what to say. No I've ever known has died. I really don't know what I would do or how I would handle it. And for the first time I really didn't know what to say...

Tuesday, January 24, 2006

Been busy

What began as a very ambitious quarter has been trimmed down to only three classes + ROTC. It's been nice because the workload seems manageable for the moment and I have the time to really throw myself into my classes. I have time to do extra research on things that pricked a part of my brain. It's been really nice. Oh btw, I LOVE Petrarch. I finished his "the Ascent of Mt. Ventoux" and "on his own ignorance" a week ago and they were amazing. Petrarch seems like a lively passionate sort of fellow. He made me laugh and think and has now contributed four different quotes to my facebook profile. They were both part of The Renaissance Philosophy of Man that we are reading for my renaissance humanism class. For the first time we're raising questions and such that I hadn't thought too much about before. I'm almost tempted to be a philosophy major because that's the part I like the most so far. But we were talking about why the humanists thought we studied history. I can't say I found a sufficient answer. Some said we studied it to contextualize and better understand the bible, others because history repeats itself so we should read it to be able to make more informed decisions. That's always the ones that history teachers give. I can't say that either of those are the reason I study history. I think my love of history was rooted in my fascination with people. I love to watch people, to understand why they make certain decisions, etc. I think it stemmed from my inability to understand my irrational parents--particularly my mother! And I generally like people. I think we're amazing fascinating creatures and it only seemed natural to read about things people had done, what they believed in, how they interacted with each other, etc. But even this explanation seems too simple. Perhaps I like to study history because it helps me understand how the world I live in got to where it is now. Perhaps, I wanted to understand myself better so I read about other people that had similar beliefs, etc. The thing that amazes me is the diversity you can find. History may repeat itself but it does so in so many different ways! You can see it most strikingly with the ancient cultures. They were so cut off from one another that they could go off in their own direction without being influenced. I mean look at the Egyptians, Sumerians, Minoans, Chinese, early Americas, Incas, etc. All so very different!!! But today we seem to be loosing those unique fun differences. With a global exchange of ideas and information we begin more and more to look, think, and act the same. I don't know what I'm talking about really. Thoughts seem to spill out of my head. But for the first time I have time for thoughts to spill out!!

I noticed today that I tend to zone out a lot. I was in French class today and realized not once but a couple times that what I was thinking about had nothing to do with the lecture. And I started thinking about how often I do this. In rehearsal I often have to be brought out of my thoughts and the same for when I'm walking anywhere. I drift off and then someone will say hi to me and I may or may not even notice. It's such a jarring feeling too. To be woken out of an almost dream. Then I thought about how it would feel to be constantly in that state. To be moving about the world all the time lost in another place in your mind. It reminded me of a book I read. Basically the evil stepmother casts a spell on her stepchildren turning all six boys into swans. The sister escaped and has to make a shirt for each one of them out of this stinging plant. But she herself is about to be burned as a witch by some other people when she hasn't quite finished the sleeve on the last shirt. So this last brother was doomed to walk that in-between line. He was human with the wing of a swan and lived in a place between being human and swan. I sometimes wonder if that could happen to me if I didn't have someone to bring me back.

Feeling Better!!

So it seems I was a bit sicker than I realized.. When I was on my way to Bio on Wed. I managed to spill hot chocolate all over myself without realizing it and was having trouble staying on the side walk for some reason. I think i was dehidrated. Anywho, I managed to feel better enough yesterday to go to ROTC and rehearsal. OMG!!! I got a new space! New blocks to play with and a phone!! It was soooooooooooooo much fun. I was sorta exploring the space to see how many different ways I could fit my body into it. Then I played with the phone a lot. Calling numbers with my nose, spinning the receiver with my foot, and other random silliness. Cassie had to tell me to tone it down cuz it was distracting lol. I was just in a bit of a silly mood because I'd been cooped up so long from being sick. And today I have work and my character meeting!! Wahoo!!! I'm excited. I have so much to talk to cassie about. I think what i'm really struggling with is how Violet got to the begining of the story and what she does all day. Well hopefully wonderfulness will happen at the meeting and we'll all be able to celebrate! Anywho, back to work! Oh and Rachael and I are going to Steppenwolf tonight! Wahoo!

Tuesday, January 17, 2006

: (

I'm sick. Stuffy nose, headace sick. Blah on the world!!! I hate kleenex. I never used to get sick. Those were the days. Then i moved up north and bam, sick all the time!! lkasjdfl;kasjdf;laksjdf!!!

Pain! Lots of Pain!

OMG!!!! Yoga can die! I'm in soooooo much pain today. The lower half of my body would like to curl up and die right now. It's my own darn fault for not doind anything in so long. Blah on the world!!!

I didn't sleep at all last night!

Ok, so I had work at 8am today!! Blah! And I couldn't get to sleep last night because I was thinking about Violet and I had, in short, a major revelation that I immediately had to write down. I thought I would share it since I thought it was important enough to loose sleep over. Well it began with an excercise we did in rehearsal. Cassie had us interview each other in character. Where are you from, what do you do during the day, what do like to eat for breakfast, etc. Well I, like an idiot, hadn't really read the script in a while and had forgotten a lot of info about Violet like the the fact that she's an orphan!!! So when I was asked where I was from, where my parents lived, etc. I made up some BS about how they lived on the other side of new york and that I didn't really see them often since they lived so far away. I went on to talk about how I went to community college because it was cheaper and I was paying my own way through etc. because I wanted to assert some independence and not be burden on my parents. This all sounded fine and dandy but she's an orphan. We're all orphans!!! But what if Violet would lie about her parents? Violet longs for a flock, community, human contact. She wants people to like her. So she probably would lie about her parents being alive to make herself seem more normal and then maybe people would like her. That and she doesn't want people to pity her she wants people to like her. I think Violet has a huge fantasy life pervades all aspects of her life, including her work. I think she really believes that she's helping people by directing them to the right person to call. But what if in a moment she realizes that she really isn't helping anyone? That she's getting the same problems over and over and nothing changes, nothing ever gets better. I think that's when she retreats even farther into her fantasies and that's when she convinces herself that she's a bird. Birds always have a community, they help each other, they're not selfish, no one is ever alone or hurting. You don't have to think or make decisions. I also think that although she really wants a community, someone to care about her and to share things with, she's really shy and afraid of people. She's always been alone and so I think she just doesn't know how to socialize with others. Maybe that's why she works at home. At home she's in her own space. She doesn't have to be reminded every day how awkward and lonely she is. So I think I've decided that Violet is an escapist. Well more later. For now back to work!

I like to think that I haven't changed because if I haven't changed then I'm still in control. I can't recall very many, if any, concious changes and so they must have happened despite myself, without my permission. Not that I think it's bad that I have changed. In fact I look at the person I am now and the person I once was and it makes me smile and want to cry, all at the same time. Today we were playing a bunch of improv games in rehearsal and I realised that I was never able to do that before. I've also come to realise that I don't do things just because I'm supposed to anymore. I used to work hard in school because that's what I was supposed to do. No my parents never pressured me and no they never explicitly said this is what we want but I think deep down I did it to make their lives easier and to make them proud of me. And I accomplished both of these goals. But now I'm in college and for the first time I'm spending the time to really think about why I do things like theatre, school work, etc. Things that were once just a give in. I'm sad though because there's so much going on that I've lost something of myself. The part of me that could just sit and stare at a bunch of swishing trees for hours, totally enraptured by the world that I found myself in. Now when I walk I'm mostly bouncing around or dancing to my music. It's not a bad thing it's just different. Sometimes I remember. At odd moments I remember. I feel really happy here and I really don't feel like I deserve it. If only I could stay in school forever. Good night.

Sleep

I've been sleeping a lot lately. i really like my classes and still I don't really feel motivated. I'm in a play which is exciting. But I haven't really been able to work on it like I would like. I had a dream that's been bothering me. I've been having lots of dreams lately. I don't remember them for long. But they're there. Anyways, one of them just seemed like one of my normal mixed up thought sorta dreams. But there was a moment when i was with someone i know (this is weird because people I know are almost never in my dreams but sometimes i'll put someone i know only a little, that reminds me of this person i don't know in my dream, so that they will have a face and i think that's what happened this time). I got so caught up in the implications of this particular person being in my dream that it took me half a day to recognize the feeling that I had when i saw this person. It's a feeling that I've only ever had once. Toward one other faceless person in another dream when i was in 9th grade. I used to remember that dream so well. Every detail, ever movement, and now all I remember are shadows and one very distinct feeling that was also in the dream i had the other night. I don't know why I'm going on and on about this. But it was a feeling that I've never had in real life before. I'm breaking all the rules by talking about this. I have rules about saying things out loud or writing them. But I finally made myself write about that dream in ninth grade so it seems only fitting that I write about this one too... I'm just a little lost right now. Vale.

Post Readthrough Bounciness!

Ok, so the read through was soooooo amazing! I love my part. I'm just sad that I don't get to worship the poodle too. It could have been fun. Anywho, I have lots of birdie fun, a song (with no melody we'll see what to do with that later...), and I have to kiss this kid named Joal. I don't know how I feel about this. I've never had to do a kiss on stage. But it doesn't really bother me too much. I was so happy she found her flock. I have so much to think about and questions to ask. I went and got a Violet journal to write all my thoughts and etc. in it concerning the play. Anywho, Rachael and I are watching pride and prejudice (the old one) right now. Well Vale!

I'm still glowing!

Oh I just can't believe it. I don't know why she cast me. i was so afraid I was going too over the top. And when I went into the call back she said "and you're janice right...?" I mean she really had no idea who I was etc. I'm just so excited. I think Violette (I like the french spelling better! even though that may or may not be the actual french spelling. I should really look that up. I just like the ette words!) is going to be something really fun that I'll be able to play with. But still. I only got called back for one thing and I actually got it... I think it's because I put all of my energy into one show instead of trying to do all of them. i actually didn't even bother to try out for will fulton's show. I was just tired and not in the mood. It all worked out in the end though. I can't wait for the read through this sunday. I really should go to sleep but I'm just not even a little bit tired. I've been hanging out with Rachael all evening doing absolutely nothing. Just watching a lot of TV and reading and talking... Maybe I'll be productive and do some reading or something... Vale!

I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!! I GOT THE PART!!!!!!!!! I'M GOING TO BE VIOLETTE!!!!!! THE BIRD LADY IN A POODLE WITH GUITAR AND DARK SUNGLASSES!!!!! HERE'S THE MONOLOGUE THAT GOT ME THE PART!!!!!

(Violet is a young woman, 19 - 35, living alone in a small New York City apartment. Jerry is one of her neighbors and has just walked in on her standing atop her desk, pretending to fly.)

JERRY: Where you headed?
VIOLET: South.
JERRY: How come?
VIOLET: It's a migratory thing. You wouldn't understand.
JERRY: But I'm interested. Explain it to me. What gets you going?
VIOLET: Well. You get a feeling. It's hard to explain. You get restless. How it starts, you can't shut up. You chatter compulsively: chatter, chatter, chatter. Everybody else is feeling the same; everybody crowds together, chattering away: "what's happening-what's up-whaddaya wanna do-I dunno-I'm feelin' jumpy-how you feel-hey hey hey hey hey" and the noise of everybody chattering at once gets louder and louder and louder - this part can take days.
JERRY: Sounds nerve-wracking!
VIOLET: Oh, you bet. Next thing, you can't sit still. You start diving off your branch and swooping around and you don't know why. You feel like you're out of control, like there's this huge force that's pulling at you and you don't know what and you don't know where but you can't stay still. It's kind of exciting. You heart's going bip-bip-bip-bip-bip, and you can't think at all; your mind's completely absent, you're just a single focused burning sensation of I gotta move. And you're all feeling it together, you're all diving and swooping and chattering and with every dive and swoop you're getting more in sync, beginning more and more to move as one, drawing together from a ragged cloud of individuals into The Flock and it all comes together on an instant as you dive and instead of returning to the branches the swoop takes you back up and higher, higher, everyone finding their place in the formation - oh, you can't imagine what a feeling that is, to know your place in the formation

AND HERE'S THE SUMMARY OF THE SHOW!!!!

Poodle With Guitar and Dark Glasses Synopsis
Poodle with Guitar and Dark Glasses, written by Liz Duffy Adams in 2001, follows four nights in the lives of five individuals who are striving to rediscover the purpose to their lives. Fuchsia (F) is a romance novelist who has lost control over her novel's main character. Jade (F) is a painter who has lost touch with her creative side. Gray (M) is an ESL teacher for Russians who has lost the ability to communicate. Violet (F) is a girl who has lost her community, her flock. And Jerry (M) is a silent photographer who encourages their actions and records their results over these four nights.
Poodle with Guitar and Dark Glasses is a surreal exploration into the human psyche. Its' characters embrace the desires that many individuals suppress, desires which tend to seem cliche and base in modern American society. Each character tells their story through a series of monologues, until the final scene when the players reach out to one another to get help finding what they have lost. The production runs at just about one hour, and will be preceded by the one-act 'Not I' by Samuel Beckett. It will go up ninth week, and requires three females and two males.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!! THE READ THROUGH IS THIS SUNDAY!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Back!

Why is it the only time I write on here is when I'm at work??? Well anywho... I'm back at school and my classes are pretty good. Taking two classes on the renaissance on the same day is fun and human heredity seems like it's going to be pretty easy. So all that's left is my drama class but I don't start until this monday. Speaking of drama, I auditioned for UT's winter shows this week. It was hell. For the musical audition my heart just wasn't in it. Whatever... The only thing that I was really excited about was Poodle with guitar and sunglasses. The monologue for the audition was a girl who thinks she is a bird and is about to migrate. It was sooooooo much fun to prepare and I wore a feather boa because birds have feathers and it made sense to me at the time! Anywho, I actually got called back! I mean I put a lot of work into it but I really didn't think I would get called back. I was like crazy excited and cleaned my room and did laundry. Then the freaking out phase hit and I just sorta got quiet and lost a lot of my energy. And I think that's what was missing in my call back, energy. I just don't know how it went at all. I had to read two different parts with two different people. It was crazy. I just don't think I did very well. THis girl I was reading with was fantastic and I felt like such a loser. And that's what I was singing on the way home "I'm a loser, and a coward... and I know I'm gonna fail" :( I was just in a mood. I really wanted this and I really don't think I got it. So I sort of moped around all evening. Poor Rachael! She had to deal with me through most of it. But today I feel better. Not getting into this show is not the end of the world. I think I need a quarter off anyways. Well I should get back to work! Vale!

Almost done!

Finals are almost done. I've got a lot of ROTC stuff to do tomorrow. Like find some miracle that will get the wrinkles out of my service coat!! You know for someone who doesn't ever get headaches I've had a fair few this quarter. I think I'm just tired. I need something to get me excited again. I went to get my books for next quarter today and it just reminded me how very poor I am. i don't know what I'm going to do about christmas presents. Darn milball, expensive running shoes, and food!!! Sheesh! It will be ok though. I got a bunch of Goethe for Ger. Romantacism. My french books are MIA and I'm not spending almost $100 on a bio. topics course book. I'll just get one on reserve from the library when I need it. So i checked out a bunch of random Balzac to read since I don't know what we will be doing. Do you know his complete works has a name?! "La comedie humaine" That made me laugh. The question is did he title it or someone else?? I should find out! I also got a Moliere play to read? Pourquoi pas?? So I've got Balzac, Moliere, and Goethe! it's gonna be one hell of a christmas break! Oh and I'm gonna clean my room tomorrow!! Good night!

I'm in love with snow : )

As i walked out of the Reynold's Club to go home I was pleased to discover it was snowing! You know that perfect kind of snow, Soft and gentle and sparkling. It was so beautiful. Kind of like the play I saw tonight. The movement was beautiful. I really wish I did more dancing. There was something very pleasing about this piece. Simple and yet striking, and very beautiful. I really enjoyed watching. I think it could have broadened it's scope a bit and the acting for some parts was rather lacking. Nonetheless, this piece still made me very happy. So I had fun playing and spinning on the slick side walks on the way home, humming gently to myself. I saw a few people on my way home but not one of them said a word. No one joined me in my revelry. Some slowed down, hoping to stay far enough behind that they would never have to disturb or approach me, while others sped up and passed me. But no one stopped. One day I'll get someone to stop and enjoy the snow as well.

Sleepy day

So I got home really late last night. The play was what it was and now it's over and I ended up sleeping all day today. It turned out better than expected. Jeremy certainly created something amazing. I'm more amazed that we managed to clean up all the mess!!! Rachael and I ended up staying up really late afterwards talking about things. I really want to be a part of a different type of show next time though. Something really difficult that I can throw myself into. We'll see. Now I'm feeling kinda blah. There's a cast party tonight and the house coctaile party is tonight. I really don't feel like going to either. I just have too much work to do. I've got so many exams and such on monday. Anywho, I feel like curling up with a girly movie right now. Slipper socks, froggie blanket, chocolate...the whole nine yards. I think I deserve it after last night! Vale!

For the first time in my life i can say i've done something I'm not proud of. I've been a part of something that's turned into something wrong and I don't know how to fix it. And if I quit now lots of people will be let down that are counting on me. I'm just kind of lost. Have you ever felt after doing something that a little piece of you died somewhere along the way? A little piece of your innocence, your ideals, your dreams. I like to giving to people. I like being able to take them away from the world for a while and make them smile or give them something to think about. I like being able to help people face things they don't want to think about. To make them aware. But this doesn't do that anymore. There's no reason. The words are gone. Now it's just chaos, disgusting, and grotesque. But that's what they want it to be. And so I'll do it because I made a promise. However, there will not be a next time. I know what I want now and we're going to make it happen.
